LED display for
studio and TV production

A studio with more possibilities

Create more
productions in the same studio

With the right LED display, the same studio can be used for interviews, live broadcasts, corporate presentations and other productions without rebuilding the physical set.

Trefyr provides permanent LED displays for TV studios, corporate studios, streaming, broadcast and other camera-based productions. The solution is specified according to the size of the studio, camera positions, recording format and how the display surface will be used.

For advanced studio environments, we recommend Absen NX Series, a premium display developed for high image quality, natural colour reproduction and stable in-camera performance.

TV studio and broadcast

For news, interviews, sports, talk shows and other productions where image quality and stable in-camera performance are essential.

Corporate studio

For presentations, internal communications, training and branded content in a studio that can be used again and again.

Streaming and hybrid events

For live broadcasts, digital events and hybrid productions where graphics, presentations and visual content become a natural part of the studio image.

Recommended LED display

Absen NX Series, our first choice for studios

For permanent studio installations where the LED display will regularly appear on camera, we recommend Absen NX Series.

NX Series is developed for installations where image quality, colour reproduction and in-camera performance are the main priorities. The combination of a high refresh rate, advanced colour management and strong image reproduction at low brightness provides a stable camera image with smooth tonal transitions and natural colours.

The series is available in pixel pitches of 1.5, 1.875 and 2.5 mm. This makes it possible to adapt the solution to the camera distance, lenses, framing and physical size of the studio.

Stable in-camera performance

A refresh rate of up to 7,680 Hz reduces the risk of visible scan lines and interference during recording, streaming and live broadcasting.

Natural colours and smooth tones

High grayscale performance and advanced colour management provide greater control over skin tones, shadows, gradients and dark areas of the image.

Strong performance at low brightness

In a controlled studio environment, the display is often used at significantly lower brightness than in other applications. NX Series retains details and tonal range even when the brightness is reduced.

Adapted to the camera distance

The correct pixel pitch is not determined solely by the physical size of the display. Camera placement, lenses and the planned framing also affect how the LED structure appears in the production.

Absen NX Series

Absen NX Series is developed for studios and other camera-critical environments with high requirements for image quality, colour reproduction and stable performance. Read more about the available pixel pitches, technical features and installation options on the product page.

Creative design

Build a studio that changes with the production

An LED display does not need to be limited to a traditional rectangular image surface. Its modular construction makes it possible to create a studio environment adapted to the architecture of the room, the camera angles and the productions being created.

The display surface can function as a subtle background, a central part of the set design or an immersive digital environment that gives the studio greater depth.

Showcase of LED display installation at Digitalstudion

Traditional 16:9 studio wall

A large continuous display surface behind the presenters for graphics, video, presentations and digital backgrounds.

Well suited to corporate studios, news formats, interviews, training and recurring live broadcasts.

Wide panoramic display surface

An extra-wide LED wall extending across a larger part of the studio, providing more space for multiple presenters, camera angles and graphic zones.

The content can be divided into several areas or used as one continuous digital environment.

Corners and immersive installations

By continuing the LED display around a corner, the studio can gain greater depth and more usable camera angles.

Different parts of the display surface can show continuous content or be used as separate graphic areas.

From initial idea to completed studio

How we develop the right studio solution

1

Production and requirements

We begin by reviewing the formats that will be produced, the cameras being used and how the LED display will be positioned within the studio image.

We also consider factors such as frame rate, lenses, camera angles, lighting and how often the appearance of the studio needs to change.

2

Size and pixel pitch

Based on the camera distance, lenses, framing and required display format, we calculate a suitable physical size, pixel pitch and resolution.

The aim is to create a display surface that performs correctly on camera while supporting the visual design of the studio.

3

Technical planning

We plan the supporting structure, power supply, data cabling, signal flows, video processing and future service access.

When required, we coordinate the solution with other parties involved in construction, set design, lighting and studio production.

4

Installation and configuration

The LED display is installed, connected and configured together with the other studio technology.

We adjust the display according to the studio signal format, frame rate and planned use.

5

Camera testing and handover

The system is tested using the relevant camera settings and content.

We then train the users and provide documentation for the completed installation.

LED display for the TV studio at Digitalstudion

Trefyr supplied Digitalstudion with an LED display measuring 4.2 × 2.4 metres with a pixel pitch of 1.8 mm.

The display was installed as a background in their TV studio for digital and hybrid events and is controlled using a NovaStar MX30 video processor.

The large continuous display surface allows the studio to show digital backgrounds, presentations, graphics and other visual content directly within the production.

The solution makes it possible to change the appearance of the studio between different events and productions without rebuilding the physical environment.

Frequently asked questions

LED displays in studios

An LED display that looks good to the human eye may show flicker, scan lines, moiré or uneven colour transitions on camera.

For studio environments, the display needs the right combination of refresh rate, grayscale performance, colour management, drive technology and pixel pitch. The video processing and camera settings also need to be configured together.

Absen NX Series is developed for installations where high image quality and stable in-camera performance are the main priorities.

The series offers a refresh rate of up to 7,680 Hz, high grayscale performance, advanced colour management and strong image reproduction at low brightness.

The wrong combination of display technology, refresh rate, frame rate and shutter speed can cause visible interference.

The display and video processing therefore need to be configured and tested together with the camera and production environment that will be used.

The correct pixel pitch is primarily determined by the size of the display, the camera distance, the lenses and how much of the LED display will be visible in the frame.

NX Series is available in 1.5, 1.875 and 2.5 mm pixel pitches. We determine the most suitable option based on the studio’s actual camera angles and planned framing.

Yes. The panels’ 16:9 format makes it possible to build display surfaces in established video formats.

The physical size required for Full HD or 4K depends on the selected pixel pitch. The display can also be built with a custom resolution when the studio requires a wider or more specialised format.

The display can be connected to a computer, presentation system, media player or another video source.

For digital signage, we can complement the installation with a media player and CMS. This allows the content to be updated, scheduled and managed remotely over the internet.

Yes. The video processing can be configured for standard European production formats such as 25 and 50 frames per second.

At the same time, the camera shutter settings, display refresh rate and other parameters need to be adjusted together to achieve a stable result.

Yes. We can provide the supporting structure, video processing, signal management, control systems, installation, configuration and training.

With our experience in camera production, we can also design the solution so the LED display integrates seamlessly with the cameras, vision mixer, lighting and the rest of the production workflow.

Yes. We can provide the supporting structure, video processing, signal management, control systems, installation, configuration and training.

Drawing on our experience in camera production, we can also plan how the LED display should work together with the cameras, vision mixer, lighting and other production technology.

The price is primarily determined by the size of the LED display, pixel pitch, supporting structure, video processing and how the display will be integrated into the studio.

Feel free to send us the room dimensions or a drawing, together with information about the cameras, approximate camera distances and the desired display format. In most cases, this is enough for us to prepare an initial technical recommendation and budget estimate.
